Journal Exercise
Reclaiming our Authority
An Inquiry to Inspire Action.
Are you ready?
This is an experience that will ease your nervous system, your mind and soul. Find your own expression, in answering the questions. The only thing that I recommend you to do, is to let the writing be guided by whatever wants to be expressed. There is no right or wrong.
Before we get into the prompts, it is important to be intentionally. If there is no intention, the exercise will not work for you. The same is true for your presence. So take some time, to create a space of pure presence. A space where there is nothing to do, just to be. There is no trying, there is no doing, there is no solving, finding out, changing or what so ever. Take a few conscious breaths to regulate your nervous system into connection.
Glad that you are!
With gratitude,
Christian
#1 / 5 Owning Your Life
Ask yourself:
Where in my life am I called to take more ownership? What in my life needs attention right now?
Often, this question will bring up something that is present for a while for us. Something which is coming up over and over again. On one level, we know that we have to do something about it.

“The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek.”
Joseph Campbell
#2 / 5 The Caging Fear
Ask yourself:
What fear do I have to confront by bringing this topic into the presence?
There is always a “good” reason for us in not doing it. Otherwise, the avoidance would not show up with such an ease and a kind of pleasure when we decide “I will do it tomorrow”.
Uncover what you are afraid of, what kind of discomfort you might (or might not) have to experience? What is the cave do you have to cross to reach the light? Write about it, unload yourself.

#3 / 5 Past in the Presence
Ask yourself:
Is that fear 100% true or from an earlier time in my life?
We hide behind our experiences. We generalise them and believe that this is how life is, life is a dangerous place, full of threats. It is not only our mind that primed this way or nervous system as well. Writing about your fear, the different argumentations that appear will create context & connection, two important qualities to bring in more safety for nervous system that experiences anxiety.

We often don’t react to the present moment. We react to our interpretation that is defined by past experiences. This way the past becomes the present.
#4 / 5 The Risk of Inaction
Ask yourself:
What is the price that I have to pay for my passiveness? What is the consequence of not going into action?
There are three choices: Not responding, waiting or going into action. For some topics, the price that we have to pay because we are in a waiting mode or decided to not deal with it is higher and more uncomfortable than going into action. Being clear on the risk of non-action will help you to give you the little kick in the ass that we all need from time to time.

“Self knowledge is best learned not by contemplation, but by action.”
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
#5 / 5 Taking Action
Ask yourself:
What is an action that I can take to reclaim my authority? What is an action of total ownership?
Find the thing that empowers you and go into the world, embrace yourself and take action. Use the metaphor of a sniper, the sniper is calm, decisive and going for the most efficient shot. This is the action you should take. A perfect one.
Thank you for taking ownership. This is an action of freedom, it comes with responsibility and deep satisfaction of knowing you are doing something that your soul cares for.
